ikubINFO's Festive Charity DriveikubINFO’s team gathered for a heartwarming cause this year - “Helping Vaqarr’s village people in need” as we approach the end of the year and festive days. We have collected food packages and clothing to bring smiles to the faces of Vaqarr’s community. This wonderful initiative, by donating whatever everyone could, brought us together and closer as a team, as we tried our best to make this holiday season extra special for those in need.

Blood Donation at ikubINFO-Saving Lives TogetherAt ikubINFO, our employees are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by thalassemia. Twice a year, we come together to donate blood, providing a lifeline to those grappling with this condition. Our efforts are bolstered by the expertise of healthcare professionals from the National Blood Donation Centre. In Albania, there is a overwhelming demand for approximately 30,000 units of blood, and regrettably, only a fraction of this need is met. We encourage everyone to join us in contributing to this critical cause. Together, we can help bridge the gap and ensure that those in need receive the life-saving blood transfusions they require.

Fight Against Breast CancerYear after year, ikubINFO proudly joined the cause of Breast Cancer awareness. This year, we hosted an educational session featuring Dr. Anila Aliko, with the goal of cultivating awareness about the importance of early detection.. Breast Cancer doesn't discriminate - it affects both women and men. We learned that 1 in 100 cases of breast cancer occurs in men. The alarming rise in young diagnoses made it even more crucial for everyone to be informed.

"Embrace a life"-Celebrating Childrens DayIn partnership with World Vision, the compassionate members of ikubINFO joined hands for the meaningful cause, "Embrace a Life." Our collective goal was to make June 1st a day to remember the children in and around the city of Korca who have experienced the loss of a parent or both parents and now reside with their grandparents or other family members. This heartwarming initiative is rooted in the spirit of giving, as individuals who wished to participate were encouraged to provide symbolic gifts or care packages. Together, we aimed to bring joy and hope to these children on their special day.

Dressed in White, December 2022 In December, a couple of colleagues of our staff attended "Dressed in White," a charity event dedicated to girls trafficked and victims of domestic and gender-based violence in Albania. This event, organized by World Vision in Albania, aimed to raise funds to support "Vatra" Psycho-Social Center and other women's shelters in Albania and help raise awareness and prevent trafficking and violence towards young girls in the country.

Pink Tuesday at ikubINFOAt ikubINFO, we remain committed to advocating for some of the most sensitive causes, including Breast Cancer, as part of our ongoing efforts during Pink October. This year, we organized a symbolic mini "fair" featuring pink products, where each participant received a pink product and made a donation to our fundraising box. This year’s highlight was a very special initiative by our colleague Anjeza Ismaili, who donated her hair to women diagnosed with breast cancer, live during this event, surrounded by all the ikubINFO staff. The collected value was donated to support the cause of the “Europa Donna Albania” organization, which had its representatives during the event.

New mates from Jonathan CenterOur software engineers decided to donate a considerate budget to individuals with Down Syndrome, to support the association, Jonathan Center, a place that offers intensive therapy sessions for these individuals. “Making someone smile changes the world. Maybe not the whole world, but his world!”. This is the mission of children and young people who work to discover the beautiful colors of life and the challenges of an extra chromosome! Our colleagues also were pleased to spend some time with these kids and their parents during a football match.

Financial support for the families of the police officers who fell in the line of dutyThis time, we joined together with the leader of the association “Dëshmorët e Policisë së Shtetit”, Mr. Shefki Paci, for a solid cause for our country to support the police officers who fell in the line of duty. The association “Dëshmorët e Policisë së Shtetit” is a center that collects and offers help to these families in need of financial support. Furthermore, the association aims to integrate the children of these police officers into European society, sending them to schools, qualification courses, or solving various problems. ikubINFO is aware of the diverse and challenging social-environmental problems we face, nowadays. We hope the donation to help two families in need has made an impact by giving them a little happiness and joy in their lives.

Donation at old people's house "Shelter and hope"In late 2021, our entire company united in a heartfelt effort to bring happiness to those in need at the 'Shelter and Hope' old people's home, established by The Kuka Humanitarian Association. The director of this compassionate institution affirmed that more than 80% of its residents faced various challenges, including paralysis, mental health issues, and other specific disorders. Their needs ranged from essential provisions such as food, medicines, clothing, and blankets. We collaborated closely with Mr. Hysni Kuka, the leader of the association, to provide substantial support in the form of essential food items and financial assistance to these individuals, demonstrating our commitment to making a positive impact on their lives.

Planting a treePlanting a tree is one of the easiest and most powerful things we can do to have a positive impact on the environment. In September 2020, ikubINFO team joined the movement “Plant a Tree” in cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana! Knowing that every one of us is responsible for the planet, our team decided to be part of the continuous efforts to improve the local environment by gifting Tirana a beautiful tree in the park near our office.

"Donate Hair, Give Hope" Breast Cancer Awareness eventDuring October 2020, globally known as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ikubINFO participated in the hair donating event called “Donate Hair, Give Hope”, organized by Europa Donna Albania, an Albanian Breast Cancer Association. We funded this very important event and urged our staff to participate in it as well, to raise awareness about this serious illness which can be prevented with the right information and tools at hand. It was heartwarming to experience the passion and dedication this organization pours into everything they do to help affected women, and such a pleasure to be a part of it. On October 23rd, our Staff also participated in “Pink at Work Day”, which is a symbolic way to draw attention to October activities and raise awareness in all work environments in Albania and throughout Europe. Staff participated by wearing something pink, or by including a pink detail in their wardrobe, like a ribbon, a tie, or different kinds of accessories. They shared pictures of their Pink at Work outfit on their social medias, to reach different audiences and inform their community about this important cause. We look forward to the many ways we can contribute to the cause in the future as well.

Financial support at the hospital of Vlora during the Covid 19 pandemicIn 2020, ikubINFO decided to donate a part of the yearly Team Retreat budget to support the Hospital of Vlora for their commitment to the Coronavirus patients. ikubINFO is aware of the diverse and challenging social and environmental problems that we face today and proves its commitment to contributing for a better society through periodical series of actions and initiatives.

Earthquake DonationIn 26th of November 2019, when a strong earthquake hit Albania and caused major physical, material, health, and psychological damages to many people living in the affected areas, ikubINFO’s entire staff was engaged in providing aid to people affected by this natural disaster. Apart from direct aid to individuals and families affected by the earthquake, ikubINFO has also donated more than 40,000€ to the Civil Emergency Directory. While the challenges faced in managing the consequences of the earthquake were extraordinary, ikubINFO hopes that the contributions made by individuals, businesses, and organizations, will alleviate this extremely difficult situation.

Our Commitment to "Sauk Orphanage"When it comes to children, and especially those without parental care, everyone has an empathy that goes beyond what we might feel in our everyday life. ikubINFO in 2015, together with its staff have tried to support the ‘Sauk Orphanage’ in need at the end of the year holidays, turning this empathy into concrete actions, in order to offer a few better conditions. In the funds raised by the staff, and with an investment of the ikubINFO company, the orphanage was equipped with a refrigeration room.

At ikubINFO, we fully recognize our responsibility and duty to protect our planet. In 2014, ikubINFO employees actively participated in service and nature preservation activities. Our dedicated staff engaged in the cleanup of garden areas within the city of Tirana, working towards a cleaner and greener environment. Furthermore, we took part in tree planting and flower cultivation initiatives, nurturing the natural beauty of our surroundings. Our ongoing efforts reflect our unwavering commitment to Earth's well-being.
